FAF cares about the well being of its workers.
With that in mind, FAF created a health clinic where doctors and some resident workers carry health programs in order to prevent diseases related to the natural risks of the farm.
This program is supported by Polimed, a health related company that operates in São Paulo.
Carlos Augusto Gentil Fagundes and a team of Doctors representing Polimed visited the farm over the weekend of May 14, 2004 as part of a continuing medical program involving FAF and one of the neighboring farms, Santo Antonio.
Following up on a month long process of interviewing and collecting bio samples from farm workers, the doctors gave physical exams and collected their medical history.
Over the course of the next year, participants will receive certain treatments free of charge as well as preventative medical care. |

The information will be tracked against other groups to monitor the effects of preventative medical procedures.
Working with Carlos Augusto was Dr. Marcio Rosa, also from Polimed, Dr Jose Eduardo Bittar, Dr. Betina Bittar, and Dr. Julio Croce from the University of Sao Paulo.
The Doctors Bittar, a husband and wife team and experts in homeopathic medicine, also led a discussion with the farm administrators on how to set up a garden to grow medicinal plants as part of an introduction into further training in homeopathic treatments for common ailments. | |
